I just wanted to drop in and apologize for not posting anything. I've been swamped. It's finals week here at the University and I have 7 chapters of social psychology to cover by Friday. Not to mention all the darkroom time I need to get the 2 final assignments finished.

The Purging of my Bedroom Part 2
So I still am not finished purging my room of useless junk. I seem to be saving more than I am keeping. It is just so hard to part with things that I once loved so much. And once you throw something away, it's gone. You cannot un-throw it away.
Here are some more things I am never going to be able to un-throw away:
PC Games:
--Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life Action Game

--Escape From Monkey Island. The only reason I'm throwing this away is because I have this game on PS2.
--Reading Blaster: Mission 2: Planet of the Lost Things. I know how to read. I don't need a game to prove to me otherwise.
--Multimedia Learning Funhouse. Yes, they named a game that and expected people to buy it. Yes, I was the idiot that bought it.
--Win95 Games. Since I don't think anyone owns a Windows 95 anymore, I see no need for a PC game just for Windows 95.
--Barbie Generation Girl Gotta Groove.
--Windows XP Home. Why would anyone go from Vista back to XP?
--Yahtzee. I have the real Yahtzee, I don't need a virtual yahtzee. It's no fun unless you hold the die in your hands.
--Barbie Beach Vacation. Another childhood game I must say goodbye too. Never again shall I create a beach scene and have Barbie tell me how super cool! it is.
--Rugrats Adventure Game: BEST GAME EVER! (Well, maybe not ever, but it was pretty awesome.)

I bet you can't say it five times fast while hopping up and down on one foot and going through the alphabet in sign language. Didn't think so.

--Lego Harry Potter. This is the only LEGO game I ever bought and it was a total disappointment. We didnt' have internet at the time (stupid dialup because of living in a "remote loctaion"--which happened to be right beside of a popular marina--) and the game wouldn't let me play it without registering it online.

A Purging of My Bedroom...
Ok, so, I have a problem with throwing things away. Not icky stuff like toilet paper, napkins, or razor blades--but the non-icky stuff like clothes I never wear anymore, letters, video games I've already defeated, computers that are broken, and toys from when I was like, five.
Yes, I'm in college now. Yes, I still have my Amazing Amy doll. No, I don't play with it. I never did really. I was more of a army-men-and-hot-wheels kind of girl. But those are stories for another post.
Right now, we're talking about how this lack of disposal has brought my room to the point of utter chaos. It's not as bad as it was a few weeks ago, because I've done the summer cleaning. I can now see the floor and was pleasantly surprised to realize that my carpet is not the color of my navy blue Abercrombie clothes, but rather a warm amber color that you'd never find on a shirt--at least, not on a pretty shirt.
Anyway, the cleaning is over. Now it's time to purge.
By purge, I mean go through all of my crap and figure out what crap I should keep and what crap I should flush. (pun intended).
As I go through my stuff, a few tears swelling up in my eyes, I will get myself through with the thoughts of what new, more shiny crap can replace the crap I must trash.
Here are the items I am throwing out:
1. A steering wheel with pedals that is compatible with any game console and racing game. Why am I throwing away a super-de-duper-awesome item such as this? Because I haven't used it since the 5th grade when I was addicted to GTA: Vice City and I couldn't even use the pedals with it, which was the only reason I wanted that particular steering wheel. If I had wanted a wheel without pedals, I wouldnt' have insisted on that $50 wheel and would have happily accepted the $10. So goodbye, useless steering wheel that was a huge disappointment. 2. Many of my PC games (Which I haven't added to my lsit of defeated video games yet, but will do so soon)
Why am I throwing these away? Because they won't download onto my computers anymore. They're too old. Which is starting to make me wonder if I'm too old.
--World Tour 2003 Skateboard Park Tycoon
--Let's Ride!: The Rosemond Hill Collection Discs 1 and 2
--Spy Fox in Cheese Chase (I defeated this one, alongside my Mom, who is a fan of PC games)
--Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse (Mom and I beat this one also)
--Spy Fox in "Dry Cereal: (Also beat it)
--Carmen Sandiego's Great Chase Through Time (Beat this one alone and with mom several times. I love Carmen Sandiego and I am especially mourning this loss
--Pajama Sam's Lost and Found (beat it too)
--Disney's Villain's Revenge (Beat this one twice. It is soooo much fun! I'd play it again but it won't install on my laptop
--The Explorer (never beat it. It was my first experience with a Civilization-type video game. Mom picked it up at Big Lots for like a $1.00 and I have been in love ever since. The never civilization games are nowhere near as difficult as this one. They also aren't as fun, but It's been years since this game would install. Now it is time to throw it away and move on and get Platinum on Civilization Revolutino on the 360.
--Barbie Magic Hair Styler (I never played with Barbie dolls in person. But the Barbie PC games just rocked. I loved them so much. You can't really say you beat this game, but I logged in enough hours that I'm going to say I beat it. I wouldn't play it now simply because I"m not 8 anymore and I've grown up from hair styling video games. I at least want clothes to go along with the hair now : P
--Sonic 3D Blast (These were SEGA Sonic games for the PC. I didn't beat them, as far as I know they would never install since purchasing them, so poopy on you Sonic for the PC!
--Secret Paths To Your Dreams (I loved this game, but it would always crash my PC. Mom had to buy this game 3 different times because it kept messing up. I love you, Secret Paths, and I will miss you. Purple Moon, I commend you on your excellent game making for pre-teen girls.
--LEGO Software Demo CD--why would anyone keep a demo CD? I don't know but I did. Now I'm throwing it away
--The Oregon Trail 4th Edition (beat it! For some stupid reason I wanted to pioneer a trip to the west. Well, mom dished out $50 for the game, she beat it in a day and threatened to never buy me a game again if I didnt' beat it too. So I did, after about eight months of trying and dying on the trail. Thank you God, for not bringing me into this world during the trailblazing days. You knew I'd die.
--Clue Finders 5th Grade Adventures: Secret of the Living Volcano (So what if I was in 7th grade for this game? Mom and I beat it. It was surprisingly difficult and fun)
--The instruction guides to all the PC games I am keeping. Why? Because I threw away the boxes and now they are shoved in a drawer that I could be using for more important stuff. Plus, all the info is on the internet now, and when did instruction guides ever help with games (other than Harvest Moon)?
--Barbie Magic Genie Bottle. Yet another game I defeated. I wanted this game so badly when I was younger. It came with a "Magic Genie Bottle" Don't even get me started. All the stupid bottle was for was to take up shelf space, make the game cost more, and was just a stupid chunk of plastic. When you pulled the cap off the bottle the genie would come to you in the video game. That's it. That was all the magic that huge bottle held. The game itself was fun though.
What's that? You want to know why I decided to list everything I am throwing away? Because, I have 12 chapters of Social Psychology homework due by August 12 and this is my productive way of procrastinating. So just suffer through with it. (In my defense though, I am stopping to do an assignment after every item I list. So I've worked through chapters 1, 2, almsot all of 3 and 4. So give me some credit, at least :)

--Operation. The PC version of the board game. Don't like it as a board game, don't like it even more on PC. I mean, if I'm going to purposely give myself a heart attack it isn't going to be with an annoying board game buzzer--it's going to be by shovelling down cheese-stuffed cheese pizzas with extra cheese, and juice quarter pounder hamburgers smothered in bacon and cheese with a side of McDonald's french fries and those yummy cookies filled with chocolate fudge from Red Lobster.
--Kristi Yamaguchi Fantasy Ice Skating. On second thought, I think I'll keep this....
--Chutes and Ladders. Another PC game of a board game. I love chutes and ladders but seriously, why not just play the board game?
--The Powerpuff Girls: Mojo Jojo's Pet Project. If there was a video game I loved when I was a child it usually included these things: pets and pretty much any game that let you create something. My absolute favorites were Disney's Magic Kitchen, which let you make whatever you wanted to in an interactive kitchen. Disney's Cinderella's Dollhouse which let you decorate Cinderella's castle and most importantly Pet Shop which let you run a pet shop. (Remember I'm speaking strickly about PC games right now). I did beat this one.
--Furby: Big Fun in Furbyland! My mom still has an original furby that's never been opened. I opened mine, played with it for ten minutes and determined that it sucked more than the Spongebob Squarepants PS1 game that I couldn't beat. The PC game of Furby was fun, and I beat it (as best you can beat an arcade-game style game)
--Spy Fox in "Hold the Mustard" --beat it
--Freddi Fish 5: The Case of the Creature of Coral Cove. Another game that Mom and I beat together. :)
--Millennium Gamepak Gold. It never worked either.
--Scooby Doo Mystery of The Fun Park Phantom. Mom and I beat this one together. She enjoys good mystery games. I find that I do too.
--Richard Scarry's Busytown Best Math Ever. Because I'm too old to learn addition. If I don't know it by now it's too late.
--FinFin Animated Storybool: To Teo and Back With Jack. This game sounded great but kept freezing up and I could never really play it.
--Carmen Sandiego Math Detective. Ditto earlier post about math game.
--I Spy School Days. Mom and I also played a lot of I Spy games. They're really fun even now :)
--Babe. A PC Game of the Movie about a little pig that goes a long way. I played it through and have no use for it now. My stance on video games of movies? They always suck.
--I Spy Treasure Hunt. Ditto earlier I Spy game. Exept this one is better.
--Freddi Fish's One-Stop Fun-Shop. Just a digital coloring book. No beating neccessary.
--2nd copy of Secret Paths To Your Dreams.
--Franklin The Turtle Clubhouse Adventures. Another game of minigames. Played it enough to count as beaten though.
--Freddi Fish and the Case of The Missing Kelp Seeds. Another game mom and I tackled together.
--Reader Rabbit's Preschool. I'm not in preschool anymore, and I am not going to have a preschooler anytime in the next 40 years so goodbye preschooler game!
--Classic Board Games. This includes Mah Johngg, Chess, Checkers and all of those good games. I loves these games (minus chess because I don't really know how to play it)
--The Lion King II: Simba's Pride GameBreak! This is a fun game full of minigames that I have probably spend countless hours playing. When you're a kid, nothing gets old does it? FUN FACT: The Lion King (The first one) was the first movie Mom took me to that I sat through the entire film.
--Monsters Inc. Scream Team Training. Again, minigames. Another FUN FACT: Mosters Inc. is the only movie mom and I ever went to the theatres to watch twice and then bought and watched it on DVD. This movies rocks!
--I See Sue...the T-Rex. Yeah, that should be in Game Informer's list of Stupid Video Game Titles.
--Arthur's Birthday
--The Busy World of Richard Scarry Best Reading Program Ever. Well, I'm an avid reader (compliments of my Mom) but this game couldn've hurt. So two thumbs up!
--Dexter's Laboratory: Science Ain't Fair. One of my friends couldn't watch Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network because Dexter called DeeDee stupid. I usually didn't watch TV, opting for books instead. Yes, I'm super-nerd.
--Game 2-pack: Barbie Magic Fairy Tales: Barbie as Repunzel/Hot Wheels Custom Car Designer. Just having a PC game that has both Barbie and Hot Wheels shows you how weird I am. And yes, I played both games equally. In fact, I'd dress up repunzel and then go design a sports car.
--Rugrats in Paris: The Movie. I beleive I have this game on 3 different systems: PC, GameBoy Color, and N64. And I played and beat it on all 3 systems. Does that count as beating 3 different games?
--The Powerpuff Girls Gamesville.
--Boggle
--Curious George Paint and Print Studio. Because I no longer wish for Curious George to stare down at me from my bedroom walls and because my mom won't allow monkeys in the living room.
--Hunchback of Notre Dame Topsy Turvy Games. Another minigame that I played enough to say I beat...
--Anastasia Adventures with Pooka and Bartok. LOVE this game. I beat it several times. Fell in love with the movie too.

--I Spy Treasure Hunt. Ditto earlier I Spy game. Exept this one is better.
--Freddi Fish's One-Stop Fun-Shop. Just a digital coloring book. No beating neccessary.
--2nd copy of Secret Paths To Your Dreams.
--Franklin The Turtle Clubhouse Adventures. Another game of minigames. Played it enough to count as beaten though.
--Freddi Fish and the Case of The Missing Kelp Seeds. Another game mom and I tackled together.
--Reader Rabbit's Preschool. I'm not in preschool anymore, and I am not going to have a preschooler anytime in the next 40 years so goodbye preschooler game!
--Classic Board Games. This includes Mah Johngg, Chess, Checkers and all of those good games. I loves these games (minus chess because I don't really know how to play it)
--The Lion King II: Simba's Pride GameBreak! This is a fun game full of minigames that I have probably spend countless hours playing. When you're a kid, nothing gets old does it? FUN FACT: The Lion King (The first one) was the first movie Mom took me to that I sat through the entire film.
--Monsters Inc. Scream Team Training. Again, minigames. Another FUN FACT: Mosters Inc. is the only movie mom and I ever went to the theatres to watch twice and then bought and watched it on DVD. This movies rocks!
--I See Sue...the T-Rex. Yeah, that should be in Game Informer's list of Stupid Video Game Titles.

--The Busy World of Richard Scarry Best Reading Program Ever. Well, I'm an avid reader (compliments of my Mom) but this game couldn've hurt. So two thumbs up!
--Dexter's Laboratory: Science Ain't Fair. One of my friends couldn't watch Dexter's Lab on Cartoon Network because Dexter called DeeDee stupid. I usually didn't watch TV, opting for books instead. Yes, I'm super-nerd.
--Game 2-pack: Barbie Magic Fairy Tales: Barbie as Repunzel/Hot Wheels Custom Car Designer. Just having a PC game that has both Barbie and Hot Wheels shows you how weird I am. And yes, I played both games equally. In fact, I'd dress up repunzel and then go design a sports car.
--Rugrats in Paris: The Movie. I beleive I have this game on 3 different systems: PC, GameBoy Color, and N64. And I played and beat it on all 3 systems. Does that count as beating 3 different games?
--The Powerpuff Girls Gamesville.
--Boggle
--Curious George Paint and Print Studio. Because I no longer wish for Curious George to stare down at me from my bedroom walls and because my mom won't allow monkeys in the living room.
--Hunchback of Notre Dame Topsy Turvy Games. Another minigame that I played enough to say I beat...
--Anastasia Adventures with Pooka and Bartok. LOVE this game. I beat it several times. Fell in love with the movie too.

Today's Playlist 7/25/11
This past weekend was CRAZY!! Between photo shoots on the side of the street, cutting down trees in Kentucky, and a trip to the Emergency room I am so tuckered out. Here's a rejuvenating playlist to help revitalize ourselves for the long week ahead.

I hope that none of you spend any time in the emergency room, though, for that wasn't very pleasant.
